Well, we had the 23-week visit today. Up about 5 pounds overall from pre-pregnancy weight, but the increase in VOLUME is what’s really amazing. Now, laying on my back, the lump over my stomach is not just bellyfat. It’s quite firm, and quite obviously the baby. The ultrasound today showed that she is upside down right now (feet in my gut, head in my pelvis). A couple hours later at work I definitely felt her streeeetching out. Kicks up around my ribs and a pushing feeling down in the pelvis. Hopefully soon this squirming I’ve felt on the inside for the last couple months will be evident from the outside — I’m eager for Joey to get a taste of what’s going on in there 🙂
An interesting way of keeping track of progress is what’s called a “ticker” — it’s a little graphic that updates itself with fun or clinical facts, based on a due date that you give it. I chose ‘fun’ facts, so here it is:
