The appointment today was pretty uneventful, EXCEPT for the scale saying I’ve gained 14 pounds in two weeks. THAT is wrong. The doctor was like “whoa, I’m not sure I believe this.” Well, I’ve been weighing myself at home daily, and ever since the my 28 week appointment, the scale at the doctor’s office has been 10 – 11 pounds less than the home scale. Both have gone up, consistently, but they’ve stayed 10 – 11 pounds “apart,” until today, so what looks like +14 on the charts is actually I think +3 or +4 from two weeks ago. So, we were both OK with that.
Very quick U/S (looked at two places, said “that looks really good”) and that was pretty much it. This doctor is the one who thought I had the greatest chance of winding up with pre-eclampsia, and he admitted he was surprised I “made it this long” and was happy to be wrong on the BP keeping under control 🙂 He did, however, order another Level II ultrasound, to get some growth measurements on Ivy, to make sure she’s growing at an appropriate rate. This is because we have messed with my BP since the 20-week appointment, so we’ll get to see some (additional) more in-depth pictures of our LO soon 🙂
Because of the BP stuff, I’m starting on weekly visits now, beginning next Tuesday. So, “doctor time” just got much busier.
