Happy One-Month Birthday, Ivy!
She’s changed since we brought her home, and we’ll be taking one photo per day, to document her growth progress. Look for a link soon.
So far, she’s doing wonderfully on lifting and holding her head up, when placed face down. Joey reports that she even (accidentally) rolled over once already. She can track objects that are about a foot from her face, and she very intently studies other peoples’ faces. There’s not the intentional impersonation going on yet, but smiles aren’t infrequent (show off those dimples, little one!!).
She also really loves any kind of movement — whether stroller rides, or being carried around in a sling or baby backpack or just “by hand” — and I discovered that unless she’s apoplectic, singing to her (even ABBA) will calm her down. She stops thrashing around, and seems to be listening! Yay. Ivy has been out lots already, and so far has behaved well in public every time. Only had one incident, but it was while driving around at the end of a LONG day, and it was quickly dispensed with a quick breastfeeding (“under cover”) in a parking lot.
Anyhow. One month. Wow. Where’d it go?
