Saturday was the day of the wedding which took place at an Episcopal Church in downtown Pasadena, California. The weather was fabulous and the wedding was brisk and beautiful. The priest said that in 30+ years of performing wedding ceremonies, April & Michael’s was the first that mentioned marshmallows.
April treated her bridesmaids to a morning at the Essence salon, to make their heads pretty. Here, the bride to be is getting ready for the wedding, and looking fabulous.
April getting the Hollywood makeup treatment.
Looking fabulous! She reminds me of someone, though. Can’t quite put my finger on it…
Ready for my closeup. Ah, hah. I know who she reminds me of!
Not so glamorous. My suit matches the wall!
Jane, who gave April away, and Ivy, who was the official flower girl (carried in by Flower Maiden Amber Edens – Jill’s daughter) wait around after the ceremony, while photos are taken of various combinations of the wedding party.
Holly takes a turn holding Ivy, who was very good during the ceremony. She only let out one loud raspberry and started making happy baby sounds after about 10 minutes. She and I watched the rest of the ceremony from the back of the sanctuary, while Holly stood up front in heels for half an hour. What a trooper.
Pasadena City Hall. The church is directly across the street.
Inside the Church, which had a European feel to it, with the high ceilings, stained glass windows and elevated altar.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rabanera! April’s Mom made April’s bridal gown (as she had for Jill and Holly, and my wedding tux) and Michael’s tie.
People milling around saying, “Where do we go to eat?” The post-ceremony photography session lasted about half an hour and then folks headed off to the Annandale Golf Club for a fun and fancy reception dinner and party!
Jill and Neil Fuller. Neil is “talking” to Ivy. No, seriously. He is.
