This kid is racking up some frequent flyer miles and she’s not even 3 yet! This was her 9th round trip flight and second flight in 2011. This time we are off to Arkansas. This was actually a business trip for me to fix some stuff in the Harrison office, but I decided to drag along Ivy and let her get some Grandma-time. Ivy does very well on planes and either plays with the iPod or sleeps through most of it. Both were true on the trip up to Arkansas. The coolest part is watching her go through security. She knows the routine! She grabs a tub and takes her shoes off, tosses in absolutely everything not bolted down, and pushes it to the Xray machine. She then scuttles through the Metal Detector and promptly fetches her tub from the conveyor belt. Wow! I’m amazed. The security people were all charmed and got a laugh out of it.
The hard part was making the drive from Little Rock to Harrison. Ivy can tolerate a plane ride, but can’t sit still in a car seat for 3 hours, so I had to factor in some frequent play-stops including a Burger King in Conway and a town park in Clinton.
Word got around quickly that Ivy was coming for a visit, so by the time we arrived in Harrison my neice Jill and her son Broc were at Grandma’s house, along with my cousin Judy and my nephew Riley. My cousin Melissa also came over for about 30 minutes for a visit. Lots of food and play time over the next day or so!
