It is that time of year again when I’m sort of temporarily a widower while Holly works late hours doing accounting stuff. So I have the task of feeding and entertaining the child for the evening several nights in the week. On this particular night I didn’t feel like sitting at the house and watching another episode of Blue’s Clues, so I scooped up Ivy and went downtown to do Underwater Adventure at the Aquarium. It was a Two-for-Tuesday special, so $15 for an adventure sounded like a pretty good deal. Turned out to be money well spent because Ivy enjoyed it very much, and I thought it was kind of nifty as well.
As usual, Ivy had no fear. We rode the Ferris Wheel and she kept trying to stand up and look over the side of the gondola. She also wasn’t afraid of the manta rays swimming around in a shallow pool. She stuck her hand right and and tried to pet the slimy beasts. Sometimes her lack of fear worries me, but overall I’m glad she’s got a drive to explore and take risks. Gets that from her Dad! 🙂
