Well, that was a surprise! Today, I took my mother-in-law to the Astrodome to pick up some chairs they had purchased a couple of weeks earlier. While we were waiting in line to pick up the chairs, a news reporter and her camera man were making their way down the line asking various people in their vehicles for commentary. As they approached, I asked Jane “Do you want to talk to these people?” She said that’d be okay, so we gave them this little impromptu interview from the truck.
December 2, 2013: Some pieces of the Astrodome are in the hands of new owners. Jennifer Reyna reports.

A little backstory: I was really annoyed with these ladies for spending so much time and money on these chairs. They waited 11 hours in line without food to purchase a voucher saying come back another day to pick up your chairs. That’s some pretty heavy duty devotion! Especially to an object with only sentimental value to Holly herself. I couldn’t care less about these chair and, frankly, I think they’re very ugly. Where are we going to put them in the house? Or for that matter, HOW are we going to put them in the house? These chairs don’t have legs! They attach to a wall instead. But the ladies had to have these special chairs to add to the big piles of clutter. So, I predicted these things would just end up in storage at Jane’s house. Sure enough, they went into the garage at Jane’s house. There they will sit for an eternity.
Update: On February 5th, 2016 I dug up this old blog post just to add a note – the chairs are still in storage in the garage at Jane’s house.
