Well, since we’re pretty much living in a constant state of remodeling, let’s give Ivy’s room a makeover too! She had been complaining that it was like a ‘kid’s’ room, and that is true with the cartoony animals I painted on the wall when she was a baby.
So with a lot of sweat, frustration, aggravation, learning new techniques, and lots of money, Ivy now has an Industrial loft type room. We used faux-brick paneling for the walls and ‘german-schmear’ technique to make it look aged. I had never done that before, so I think I schmeared it on a bit too thick. Still, it came out looking really good.
Also put together a bunkbed with the bottom bed being a futon. So you can sleep on it, or sit on it and watch TV. Really nice! We’ve been getting a lot of use out of this already.
Threw in an old, near-antique piece of furniture from Jane’s old house. I think that came from April’s old bedroom. I’m guessing it is about 25 years old at least.
All in all, it looks good! Everyone is happy with this remodel.
